FAQS

Q: How does Electrolysis work?
A: I will insert a pre-sterilized, disposable probe into the bottom of the hair follicle. Each hair is treated individually by a controlled amount of heat which causes destruction of the hairs regenerative cells. When a follicles regenerative cells are adequately destroyed then that follicle can never produce another hair.
Q: Is Electrolysis painful?
A: The treatment has been described as a brief heat sensation. My Apilus® xCell Pur is one of the most comfortable on the market.

Q: How many treatments will I need?
A: Each case is individual. The overall length, frequency and total number of treatments depends on many factors, including the amount and texture of the hair and any preexisting hormone imbalances.
Electrolysis needs a series of treatments to be effective. As you improve, the visits eventually get shorter in duration with longer periods of time between each visit. A crucial factor in the achievement of your goal is the maintenance of a regular treatment schedule, as necessitated by your hair growth. When you come in for your consult, I will be able to give you a more complete evaluation.

Q: How much will it cost?
A: A total cost cannot be predetermined with accuracy because of the many variables. The cost of each visit is determined by the length of the treatment session. Please see the Services And Rates tab for more information.
Q: Can all the visible hairs be removed in one visit?
A: This may or may not be possible depending on how many hairs there are, the existing condition of your skin, the sensitivity of your skin and the response it has to electrolysis.

Q: What do I need to do before my appointment?
A:
-
In order to have a successful treatment, I will need the hair to be long enough to grab with forceps.
-
I don't mind if you wear makeup to your appointment, but I will be removing it to clean the skin thoroughly.
